a+LiNK was retained to provide professional heritage services for the restoration of the Cayuga Courthouse. The courthouse is a complex of buildings originally constructed in 1851. The three buildings that make up the courthouse include a jail house, former Warden’s residence and courthouse, which was the last to be added in 1923. Each of these has a very distinctive look due to the different architectural styles and materials used. a+LiNK provided restoration services on the courthouse complex and the adjacent land registry office building which comprised mainly of building envelope rehabilitation and maintenance: masonry repointing, dismantling and rebuilding of stone and brick veneer and parapets, inner core grouting and window maintenance.

a+LiNK previously provided restoration services to the Cayuga Courthouse site including replacement of the courthouse entrance doors with replica doors and a detailed building condition assessment of the site and building envelope. Work on the land registry building, which is located adjacent to the courthouse, included repointing of the masonry.
