a+LiNK was retained to provide professional heritage services for the restoration of the National Historic Site of Canada, which was completed in three phases. In the first phase, a+LiNK completed a Building Condition Assessment for the Canadian Diabetes Association. The report was conducted in order to determine the existing condition of the building envelope for the original building and its 1987 addition. The report concluded that restoration work was necessary on the original building to maintain its historic fabric.
For Phase II, a+LiNK provided the construction drawings and budget preparation for the restoration which included complete masonry repointing, foundation repairs, new concrete stairs and the restoration of the heritage porches.
Phase III included the replacement of the slate tile roof system, chimney repointing, and restoration of the front porch.
