The facility audit and master plan for the Pearce Williams Christian Centre was undertaken to assist the board of directors with strategic fundraising and to consider the future potential for the camp. It was noted during the audit that some buildings required minor maintenance, some required life safety and accessibility upgrades while others were deemed unsafe and condemned. Future planning included sustainability considerations and the proposal of a World Camp that would allow students to live a day in the life of a third-world society. a+LiNK Architecture coordinated the design and construction of a new emergency operations centre within the existing underutilized Fire Hall 12 in Byron for the City of London. The program requirements included the coordination of multiple emergency stake holders and the integration of complex audio and visual controls. The project was carried out in two distinct phases to ensure that firefighting operations were not affected during construction.
