a+LiNK Architecture worked with L’Arche London to design the ‘Gathering Place’, an adult day program facility in Lambeth, Ontario. The centre was designed to serve the varied needs of the L’Arche London members and the broader community. As an active facility, the ‘Gathering Place’ was designed to provide creative spaces for individuals with developmental disabilities, adult day care facilities, and community support spaces which include the L’Arche London offices.

The design inspiration was based on the name L’Arche, or ‘The Ark’, a concept which evokes shelter, security, and community. The building features a great hall for daily programming and community events, craft rooms, community kitchen, respite rooms, and offices.
